New Chairman of BDEx
Fritz Graf von der Schulenburg was elected as new Chairman of BDEx at the annual general meeting of BDEx on 18 February in Hamburg. Mr von der Schulenburg thereby succeeds Stefan W. Dircks, Managing Director of Terramar GmbH, who successfully controlled the destiny of the association over the last four years. In his inaugural speech, Mr von der Schulenburg expressly paid tribute to the achievements and successes of Mr Dircks on behalf of the association. Mr Dircks remains Deputy Chairman of the association that is still closely linked to BDEx.
In 2016, Mr von der Schulenburg took over responsibility for the overall management of the Jebsen & Jessen Hamburg Group in his role as Managing Partner, after previously working as CEO and Executive Vice Chairman of the sister company in Singapore for six years. He has direct operational responsibility for managing the Chemicals division and GMA Europe within his Hamburg group.
Mr von der Schulenburg also engages in a lot of voluntary work. He is a Member of the Board of the Asia-Pacific Association (OAV), the Latin American Association (LAV) and the Hamburg Exporters Association (VHE) as well as a Member of the Board of the Federal Association of German Export Trade (GBA), amongst others.
The election of Mr von der Schulenburg as Chairman was welcomed with much joy and encouragement. The BDEx looks forward to the close and trusting cooperation.
